As the name states, this is the website of the Bellringers of St John the Baptist Church, in the village of Charlton, near Malmesbury, in the County of Wiltshire, England. The name Charlton isn’t unique to just our village, in fact there are five Charltons in Wiltshire alone, but we are the only one with a ring of bells for full circle ringing.

We want to provide you with all the information that you need to know about ringing at Charlton, about the G & B Tower Open Day that we are organising, centred around Charlton on May 10th, 2025, and of course the World Record we are going for. In brief, we are wanting to set a record for the greatest number of ringers, ringing at a Tower during a 12 hour period, each ringing with 5 others, on our ground floor ring of 6 (12 cwt/600 Kgs) for 5 minutes.
