We are very grateful to our Sponsors for supporting this “Fun” Fundraising event. First into that position came Escape the Village, with Liz Graney, not hesitating to support our marketing by offering us this website. This is an essential resource for both communicating information about what is happening on May 10th 2025, and, equally essential, the timed booking facility necessary to allow the World Record ringing to run as smoothly as possible. Along with the booking is the payment system, for both the World Record and the Tower Open Day.
Planning has been done to do a major Press Release to gain publicity beyond the ringing community, to create awareness of Bellringing, and to draw the attention of the wider community to the pleasures and rewards of participating in this healthy, interesting and social pastime.
With the website live, we will be approaching the businesses in the world of bell ringing. These will include:
John Taylor Bell Foundry – who refurbished our bells in 1999 and cast the new Trebles.
Avon Ropes & Big Wilf’s Muffles – who have machine spliced our ropes & provided
Double Muffles in time for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second’s passing.
Mathew Higby & Co Ltd – whose Belfry Services we have benefitted from.
Simbel – We have a Simbel wireless simulator system installed in our tower.
The Ringing World – to whom we are very grateful for publishing articles about our bells and the World Record.
We are hoping that there will be a presence of the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers and the Gloucester & Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
There will no doubt be more to add from non-ringing businesses and organisations, which will include in kind support such as Charlton Recreation Centre, which includes the Village Hall and the Playing Fields, which we will be using for Car Parking, with thanks to Charlton Cricket Club, for arranging an away match on May 10th.
Sponsors will be offered a spot at the Village Hall, where there will be a supply of refreshments throughout the day and the “Touring Tower” mobile belfry will be set up.
